The city of
Atlanta Georgia is situated in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains at an
altitude of 1200 feet. Atlanta is a major city in the Unite States, and is the
big city in the American Southeast north of the major cities of Florida. Among
many other things, Atlanta is a communications and transportation center. The
city is home to CNN and is represented in every major profession sport.
Peachtree Industrial Boulevard runs from Downtown Atlanta northwest through the cities of Chamblee, Norcross, Duluth, Suwannee, Sugar Hill, Buford and finally along Lake Lanier, Georgia’s largest inland body of water, to Gainesville. The red arrow on the map pointing at Sugar Hill approximates the route of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. One-half mile south of the junction of PIB and Georgia Highway 20 stands the Gwinnco Muffler Shop In the shop’s driveway on the morning of April 16, 1993, the murdered body of Emogene Thompson was discovered.
