Mary Ann Johnsa, Stacy Turner, Sean Charles and Stacy’s small son were traveling north on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard that night. The car belonged to Mary Ann, but Stacy was driving. They had left a Jehova Witness church function at Kingdom Hall early because Stacy’s boy seemed to be ill.

At about 9:25 PM, as they descended the small hill at Pinecrest, just before the Gwinnco Muffler Shop, they all saw a police vehicle in the driveway with its headlights and dome lights on. The officer in the vehicle had his head down as if he were doing paperwork. Stacy and Sean Charles made similar statements. None could identify the officer in the vehicle through the rain. All three of these witness testified at the trial of Michael Chapel.
